Maccabi Tel-Aviv captain John Dibartolomeo suffered a partially torn achilles tendon during Monday's practice ahead of resumption of the regular season following three months without basketball in Israel due to the Coronavirus pandemic hiatus.

The good news for Maccabi's beloved captain is that he will only be out for anywhere from one-and-a-half to two months and won't require surgery. He should also be ready for the 2020/2021 season.

Here's Maccabi's statement regarding the injury:

"Maccabi Tel-Aviv Captain, John Dibartolomeo, injured his leg following a sharp turn during practice. He suffered a partially torn achilles tendon and is not expected to return to the floor this season. Have a speedy recovery. John."

It's also worth noting that prior to the pandemic, Dibartolomeo tore his pectoral muscle against Bayern Munich on December 5th, 2019 and at the time was estimated to be out for the season.

Having fully recovered from one injury and getting diagnosed with a second season ending injury is tough to do.

Wishing John a quick recovery and hope to see him back on the court very soon.
